Aloha Friday - August 28, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

What Is Your Favorite Kind Of Dish Liquid?

My favorite is Dawn, I love the smell of it.

Kidknows Outdoor Thermometer Review & Giveaway

Yesterday, I received this wonderful thermometer from Daniela at Kidknows.net. When I first saw this thermometer I thought how great is this. My oldest son, Tristan is 4 years old, and loves to pick out his own clothes. Well when he comes out of his bedroom with a long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts or a muscle tank with a pair of pants which obviously to you and me knows those combination's won't work. This thermometer helps children understand that where the temperature is, will reveille what kind of clothes they should wear. This is very helpful when the child wants to be independent.

This morning I had Tristan check out the temperature and this is what he saw,

Then he went and got his clothes...

Daniela was very nice to send me an extra Kidknows Outdoor Thermometer to giveaway. The mandatory entry is to go to www.kidknow.snet and if you don't have a themometer where you are, figure approximately what the temperature is right now, where you are and tell me what clothing would your child(ren) be wearing according to the thermometer. For example if it's 85 degrees you would write one of the clothes around that temperature...

"85 degrees tank shirt"

After you've done the mandatory entry you can do any of the following entries as well, just be sure to leave separate comments for each one.

1 Entry - Follow My Blog
1 Entry - Follow Me On Twitter
2 Entry - Add My Button To Your Blog (leave 2 comments)
5 Entry - Blog This Giveaway Leaving A Link To www.kidknows.net & From Pigpen To Paradise

Aloha Friday - August 21, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

How Long Do You Spend On The Computer Per Day?

I tend to spend more than I should, especially when the boys are down for their naps and bed time. So I have to say, I spend about 4 hours a day on the computer.

Win $25.00 Coupon At Happy Green Bee - Organic Childrens Clothes

Happy Green Bee is a clothesline that was founded by Roxanne Quimby. She wanted a clothesline that was comfortable, colorful, playful and ecologically responsible.

"We created Happy Green Bee so that a child can be a child, first and foremost," Quimby explains. "By using organic cotton, a comfortable and practical fabric, and simple bee-striped patterns, children feel as comfortable as they look while their parents take a small step in making a big difference in the environment their children live in."

Happy Green Bee sent me 3 pairs of socks for me to check out. The first thing I thought when I opened the package was oh how cute and how soft they are! Then I thought, oh no, I didn't tell them how old my children were, so I thought they sent me the wrong size socks. Nope, I read the tag and it said, size ONE SIZE 03 MONTHS TO 36 MONTHS. I thought perfect, both of my younger boys can wear these. So I tried them on the boys, and they were so cute and fit perfect. Also, for the stripe design, I love it. All my kids have white socks, and it tends to get really confusing on matching the socks after I do the laundry. But these, I won't have any problem finding the mates.

Works For Me Wednesday - Prescription Bottles

What could you do with those empty prescription bottles? Well, you can recycle them, but another thing you can do is store your loose change in them. I store the empty prescription bottle in my car (or you could store in your purse), fill it with change and when I come to a coin drop or anytime I need some change, it's right there when I need it.

Win A Lifetime Premium Membership To Break Pal

Do you have a desk job, and wish you could get some more exercising in you daily schedule. This would've been great when I was working, but even being a stay at home mom, who tends to be on the computer a lot, this program is ideal!

Break Pal is an online exercise plan that will help you get some work out time in when your working at home or at a workplace. You get a reminder and you choose what exercise to do. Then you get a visual demonstration of the 3-5 minute micro workout.

The workouts are: Cardio, Cardio Kung Fu, Yoga, Simple Stretching, Chair aerobics, Chi Kung and Dance aerobics. When I had a sitting job, my body would become stiff and sore, eight hours of sitting can be hard on your body. The exercises are done at your desk and it's only a few minutes. Most employers will encourage as part of the wellness program, because doing a small exercise will rejuvenate you and will help you to be more efficient at work.

As I'm writing this post, I just go a vocal reminder that it's time to work out...be back in a few minutes...Ok, I'm back did a quick workout, plus after your done they have an option to tweet your workout. It's all written for you, so all you have to do is click on "Tweet This" and it gets tweeted on Twitter!

I personally have really enjoyed this program. I feel like I'm getting some exercising in and that alone makes me feel better. I encourage all of you who have a desk job to try this out!

Break Pal has been nice enough to give one of my lucky readers a lifetime premium membership!

Flylady Babysteps - Day 12 & Day 13

Boy have I slacked, well not on Flylady, just posting my progress here...

On day 12 I had to delete all my emails from Flylady, and I did!

Today, I was suppose to pick one of Kelly's Missions. The only problem is Kelly's Missions are only on the week days. So I did Friday's Mission, which was to dust the window sills, light fixtures and ceiling fans.
